The present study was aimed at developing a soft chewable dosage form for calcium carbonate for nutraceutical application. Two different types of the formulations viz., sugar based and sugar free soft chews were prepared. The effect of various ingredients on the different organoleptic characteristics (grittiness, sweetness, hardness and mouthfeel) and the emulsion stability of the dosage form were checked and evaluated on the basis of an in-house numerical scale on healthy human volunteers. The study revealed that the type of emulsifying agent, heating temperature, particle size of the drug, ratio and quantity of sugars were found to have significant impact on the organoleptic characteristics of the dosage form. The study also indicates that the proper selection of packaging material is important in order to maintain the long term integrity of the formulation.

Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 2 (CLN2) is a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder leading to premature mortality. Ambulatory CLN2 patients typically receive standard of care treatment through biweekly intracerebroventricular (ICV) enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) involving recombinant human tripeptidyl peptidase 1, known as cerliponase alfa (Brineura, Biomarin Pharmaceuticals). This study longitudinally assessed the impact of ICV cerliponase alfa ERT on gait, and postural control across a two-year span in two siblings diagnosed with atypical CLN2 disease.

We aimed to evaluate the volatile compounds profile in traditional airag samples collected from two regions, including Bulgan and Uvurkhangai provinces, whereas famous airag-making areas in Mongolia. The volatile compounds of airag were investigated by the GC-MS method. A total of 95 kinds of volatile compounds were detected, and these were classified into 6 different classes: 14 acids, 14 alcohols, 16 aldehydes, 19 esters, 9 ketones, and 23 aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Etnopharmacological Relevance: The Convolvulaceae or morning glory family, with about 2000 species in the world's Tropics and subtropics, stands out among the plants used in traditional medicine. Medicinal plant complexes with important purgative properties have been developed in Mexico and Brazil from members of the genera Ipomoea and Operculina with storage roots. Popularly known as the jalap roots, their resin glycosides cause purgative and laxative activities that facilitate bowel movements.

The neuropathic characteristics of pain occurring after an osteoporosis (OP)-related fracture are often under-recognized. The aim of this pilot study is to identify, in patients suffering from pain localized on the site of a previous osteoporotic fracture, the presence of neuropathic characteristics, their medical management, and their impact on quality of life. This pilot cross-sectional study on consecutive patients in University Hospital, Rheumatology Department, Clermont-Ferrand, France, was approved by the Ethics Committee (IRB number 2023-CF34).

Objectives: Hearing aids (HAs) are a widely accepted first-line treatment option for individuals suffering from both hearing loss and chronic tinnitus. Though HAs are highly effective at improving speech understanding, their effectiveness in ameliorating tinnitus symptoms is less clear. In recent years, several investigators have reported on attempts to predict HAs effectiveness on tinnitus symptoms using an array of variables.
