The Radioisotope Centre (RC) has organized for the first time in Polish hospitals a comparison of activity measurements of (99)Tc(m) and (131)I. From the 58 Polish hospitals invited, 37 participated in the comparison. Each participant got about 4 mL of (99)Tc(m) eluate and two (131)I capsules, low- and high-activity. Sources were standardized in the RC before dispatch using a 4pi ionization chamber calibrated by standard solutions. Participants used their own radionuclide calibrators. The measurement results were evaluated using the E(n) criterion and the z'-score. From all 118 measurement results received from participants, 75 results (64%) lay within +/-5% of the RC value, and 99 results (84%) lay within +/-10.0%.

Intro: The article tests the hypothesis that we can draw practical knowledge from the experience of service providers operating in the past. The research questions were formulated: can the historical example of the organization of medical care in the Polish Children's Hospital named after Karol and Maria be used as a viable example today? Is it relevant for contemporary practitioners? And do we still use the knowledge of predecessors? The authors decided to use the interwar Hospital and an operating paediatric ward of the Child-Friendly Hospital for a comparative analysis.
Methods: The model of the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization for integrated delivery of health services was adopted as the analysis framework.

Background: Pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is largely mediated by inflammatory process. Statins are lipid-lowering drugs which also have anti-inflammatory effects. 18 fluorine radiolabeled fluorodeoxyglucose (18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) is considered to be a good indicator of arterial wall inflammation.
