The aim of this study was to assess the stability of immediate dental implants in fresh molar extraction sockets and to compare those placed in the maxilla and mandible. This was a controlled, prospective, non-randomized clinical trial; the maxilla was the test group and the mandible was the control group. Thirty patients with an unrestorable molar tooth who needed immediate implant placement were included.

Dental panoramic X-ray imaging, due to its high cost-effectiveness and low radiation dose, has become a widely used diagnostic tool in dentistry. Accurate tooth segmentation is crucial for lesion analysis and treatment planning, helping dentists to quickly and precisely assess the condition of teeth. However, dental X-ray images often suffer from noise, low contrast, and overlapping anatomical structures, coupled with limited available datasets, leading traditional deep learning models to experience overfitting, which affects generalization ability.

After tooth extraction, alveolar bone absorbs unevenly, leading to soft tissue collapse, which hinders full regeneration. Bone loss makes it harder to do dental implants and repairs. Inspired by the biological architecture of bone, a deformable SIS/HA (Small intestinal submucosa/Hydroxyapatite) composite hydrogel coaxial scaffold was designed to maintain bone volume in the socket.

Background: Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a self-limiting benign disease with slow progression in which the normal bone is replaced by dysplastic fibrous tissue. The craniofacial skeleton is one of the most commonly affected areas, and it can create unique challenges in dental implant therapy. This case aims to report an unusual presentation of FD localized in the alveolar crest bone of the edentulous site, causing special obstacles to implant placement, and provide a diagnostic and treatment process that may be referenced.

Background: Tooth extraction is a risk factor for cardiovascular events, particularly in elderly patients. However, no clinical tool has been developed to date to predict the risk of adverse events (AEs) during tooth extraction.
Materials And Methods: We prospectively enrolled 774 elderly patients (aged ≥ 60 years) with cardiovascular disease (CVD) who were scheduled to undergo tooth extraction at the dental surgery department of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital from January 2021 to July 2022.
