NMR signals are unavoidably impaired with noise stemming from the electronic circuits of the spectrometer. This noise is most often white and Gaussian and can be greatly reduced by applying low pass analogue and digital filters. Nevertheless, extra noise with other statistics than Gaussian may interfere with the signal, e.g. when auxiliary electrical devices are placed near the magnet of the NMR spectrometer. This paper reports on how one can make use of this difference in statistics to remove the noise caused by electrical devices before any further data processing. The algorithm is based on the use of a new linear low pass filter, which consists in fitting NMR data in the time domain with a cardinal series and whose spectral width can be controlled. Over other filtering methods such filter has the advantage of not distorting the signal neither at the beginning nor the end of the acquisition period. The performance of the method is demonstrated by applying it to a data set collected in a flow PGSE experiment and impaired with noise emanated from a brushed DC electric motor.

In three studies (total N = 622), the effects of threat to control on subsequent moral judgement were examined. After recalling a lack-of-control experience, participants evaluated the morality of a protagonist's decisions in a series of incongruent moral dilemmas. We found that a control-threatening reminder made moral judgements more utilitarian on the deontological-utilitarian dimension, which is consistent with the control motivation theory.

Study Objectives: Here we report our experience treating patients with narcolepsy using benzodiazepine receptor agonists (BzRA), zolpidem (Zol) or eszopiclone (Esz) taken at bedtime for both excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and cataplexy.
Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 53 patients diagnosed with narcolepsy, between 2002 and 2023. Twenty-three patients, 8 with type1 (NT1), 13 with type 2 (NT2) and 2 with secondary narcolepsy, were treated with BzRA's (20 Zol and 3 Esz).

Introduction: Rising pediatric firearm-related fatalities in the United States strain Trauma Centers. Predicting trauma volume could improve resource management and preparedness, particularly if daily forecasts are achievable. The aim of the study is to evaluate various machine learning models' accuracy on monthly, weekly, and daily data.

Vascular stabilization is a mechanosensitive process, in part driven by blood flow. Here, we demonstrate the involvement of the mechanosensitive ion channel, Piezo1, in promoting arterial accumulation of vascular smooth muscle cells (vSMCs) during zebrafish development. Using a series of small molecule antagonists or agonists to temporally regulate Piezo1 activity, we identified a role for the Piezo1 channel in regulating klf2a, a blood flow responsive transcription factor, expression levels and altered targeting of vSMCs between arteries and veins.

Marker-based optical motion capture systems have been used as a cardinal vehicle to probe and understand the underpinning mechanism of human posture and movement, but it is time-consuming for complex and delicate data acquisition and analysis, labor-intensive with highly trained operators. To mitigate such inherent issues, we developed an accurate and usable (5-min data collection and processing) deep-learning-based 3-Dimensional markerless motion capture system called "Ergo", designed for use in ecological digital healthcare environments. We investigated the concurrent validity and the test-retest reliability of the Ergo system measurement's whole body joint kinematics (time series joint angles and peak joint angles) data by comparing it with a standard marker-based motion capture system recorded during an overhead squat movement.
