Objective: In 2015, a transition was initiated among the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), resulting in a single accrediting body for residencies and fellowships as of 2020. This study aims to elucidate whether this had an impact on osteopathic students' matching into general surgery residencies, integrated surgery residencies, and surgical fellowships.

In a 'post-COVID world' in which many programs are continuing exclusively virtual interviews, digital resources often serve as first impressions of an organization. Objectives: Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, including EMS physicians, should reflect the diversity of the patient populations they serve to ensure equitable healthcare outcomes. The historical predominance of White male EMS medical directors may contribute to disparities in patient care. Recruiting and training a diverse cadre of EMS fellows is a key step toward fostering equity in EMS leadership and improving outcomes for diverse communities.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to provide current data on the composition and prevalence of rural general surgery residency programs and describe new mechanisms and resources facilitating the creation of such programs.

Design: Training site and program data for general surgery residencies for the academic year 2022 to 2023 from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) were geocoded and analyzed. A literature search and iterative consensus process with graduate medical education (GME) experts was used to synthesize and describe new mechanisms and resources to grow rural general surgery training.
