NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase, CPR, the enzyme of the majority of eucaryotic cells belongs to the family of diflavin reductases and is usually located in endoplasmic reticulum. This protein is build of three domains. The first one, C-terminal, binds FAD and NADPH, the second one, N-terminal, binds FMM, whereas the third one is the regulatory domain. Catalytic cycle of the enzyme runs by intermediate FMNH-FADH with the participation of conformational changes induced by NADPH binding to the active centre of the enzyme. It has been shown in mice that CPR was necessary for the action of cytochrome P450 monooxygenase system, but this system is not crucial for animal surviving. CPR participates also in electron transport to cytochrome b5, heme oxidase, squalen monooxygenase and 7-dehydrocholesterole reductase. Furthermore, its own crucial task is the catalysis of reductive metabolism of prodrugs, particularly antitumor agents.

Tacrolimus is metabolized in the liver with the participation of cytochrome P450 isoforms 3A4 and 3A5 (CYP3A4, CYP3A5). Omeprazole, unlike famotidine, is a substrate and inhibitor of CYP2C19, CYP3A4, CYP3A5 enzymes. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), metabolized by cytochrome P450 (P450) enzymes, are widely used to inhibit gastric acid secretion. This study investigated CYP116B46, a self-sufficient monooxygenase with a reductase domain, to elucidate its interaction with ilaprazole, a PPI. Binding assays and docking simulations indicate that CYP116B46 serves as a suitable model for studying PPI metabolism.

In our previous research, we found that not only participates in the detoxification metabolism of neonicotinoid insecticides in cotton aphid but also affects their growth and development. However, how does transgenic cotton expressing ds affect the growth and development of cotton aphid? In this study, we combined transcriptome and metabolome to analyze how to inhibit the growth and development of cotton aphid treated with transgenic cotton expressing ds (TG cotton). The results suggested that a total of 509 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified based on the DESeq method, and a total of 431 differential metabolites (DAMs) were discovered using UPLC-MS in the metabolic analysis.
