Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of secondary surgical intervention of combined phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) with alcohol delamination and peripheral anterior stromal puncture (ASP) for refractory recurrent corneal erosion (RCE).
Methods: This retrospective comparative study defined refractory RCE as cases persisting for more than 6 months after primary surgical intervention. A total of 115 eyes from 115 patients with refractory RCE, treated either with (n = 92) or without (n = 23) the secondary surgical treatment combining PTK and ASP between January 2021 and January 2023, were included.

Background And Aims: The therapeutic management of fistulas presents significant challenges, often involving both conservative and surgical approaches. Despite these interventions, recurrence and postoperative mortality rates remain high. Endoscopic stent insertion into the fistula, along with the creation of a stent stoma, may offer a promising alternative for patients who fail surgical or conservative therapies.

Dental caries, driven by dysbiosis in oral flora and acid accumulation, pose a significant threat to oral health. Traditional methods of managing dental biofilms using broad-spectrum antimicrobials and fluoride face limitations such as microbial resistance. Natural products, with their antimicrobial properties, present a promising solution for managing dental caries, yet their clinical application faces significant challenges, including low bioavailability, variable efficacy, and patient resistance due to sensory properties.

A thrombus straddling a patent foramen ovale (TSPFO) is a rare condition that presents significant health risks, including stroke or myocardial infarction, and can be life-threatening if not promptly addressed. We report the case of a 42-year-old female with morbid obesity who presented with sudden shortness of breath due to a bilateral pulmonary embolism. Imaging revealed a thrombus extending from the right atrium to the left atrium through the patent foramen ovale (PFO).

Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 450 school-going children aged 10-13 years using cluster sampling across Bhubaneswar.
