Malignancy has a crucial impact on long-term survival after liver transplantation. There has been enhanced early detection rates with refined cancer screening and improved prognosis for many cancer diagnoses in the general population with the advent of targetted anti-cancer therapies. Similar advancements have not occurred in the transplant population over this same timeframe.

The ubiquitin E2 variant domain of TSG101 (TSG101-UEV) plays a pivotal role in protein sorting and virus budding by recognizing PTAP motifs within ubiquitinated proteins. Disruption of TSG101-UEV/PTAP interactions has emerged as a promising strategy for the development of host-oriented broad-spectrum antivirals with low susceptibility to resistance. TSG101 is a challenging target characterized by an extended and flat binding interface, low affinity for PTAP ligands, and complex binding energetics.

Optogenetics enables precise control of gene expression in a variety of organisms. We recently developed the first system for optogenetic control of transcription in Bacillus subtilis. This system is based on CcaSR, a light-responsive two-component regulatory system originally derived from Synechocystis PCC 6803.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks as the third most common cancer worldwide and remains a major cause of cancer-related deaths, necessitating the development of innovative therapeutic approaches beyond conventional treatment modalities. Conventional therapies, such as radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, are hindered by challenges like imprecise targeting, substantial toxicity, and the development of resistance. Exosome-driven nano-immunotherapy has emerged as a groundbreaking approach that leverages the natural properties of exosomes-cell-derived vesicles known for their role in intercellular communication-to deliver therapeutic agents with high precision and specificity.

Image registration has demonstrated its significance as an essential tool for target recognition, classification, tracking, and damage assessment during natural catastrophes. The image registration process relies on the identification of numerous reliable features; thus, low resolutions, poor lighting conditions, and low image contrast substantially diminish the number of dependable features available for registration. Contrast stretching enhances image quality, facilitating the object detection process.
