Major depressive disorder is a prevalent mental disorder, yet its pathogenesis remains poorly understood. Accumulating evidence implicates dysregulated immune mechanisms as key contributors to depressive disorders. This review elucidates the complex interplay between peripheral and central immune components underlying depressive disorder pathology.

Although the pathophysiology of idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury (IDILI) is unclear, it is presumed to be immune-mediated, involving complex interactions between drug metabolism and activation of the immune system. The following four reactive metabolite production patterns are considered: (1) parent compounds into reactive metabolites within neutrophils or antigen-presenting cells (APCs), (2) reactive metabolites produced by cytochrome P450 (CYP), (3) nonreactive metabolites produced by CYP into reactive metabolites within APCs, and (4) reactive metabolites produced by non-CYPs. Reactive metabolites indirectly activate inflammasomes in APCs, leading to IDILIs.

Background: The incidence of hepatic immune-related adverse events has increased with the wide use of immune checkpoint inhibitors, some immune-mediated hepatotoxicity cases are severe and lack of clinical recommendations.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of artificial liver support systems (ALSS) in the treatment of immune-mediated hepatotoxicity.
Methods: This retrospective case series included six patients with grade 4 hepatotoxicity with high bilirubin induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors treated between January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021.

High-intensity focused ultrasound thermal ablation (HIFU) is a novel non-invasive technique in the treatment of liver metastases (LIM) that allows focal destruction and is not affected by dose limits. This retrospective study aimed to explore the efficacy of HIFU in improving survival and the safety of the method in newly diagnosed patients with cancer with LIM who received first-line immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. Between January 2018 and December 2023, data from 438 newly diagnosed patients with cancer and LIM who were treated at Mianyang Central Hospital (Mianyang, China) were reviewed.
