Binding, washing and elution conditions for MEP HyperCel chromatography were examined using two conditioned media (CM) containing monoclonal antibodies (humanized IgG1) and bovine serum albumin (BSA). Monoclonal antibodies derived from mammalian expression system bound to the column without pretreatment, although a majority of contaminating proteins present in the CM also showed binding. Inorganic salts, ethanol and glycerol were ineffective in eluting proteins under the conditions examined, suggesting that electrostatic or hydrophobic interactions are not a major factor for antibody binding to the MEP resin. Ethylene glycol, 2-propanol, urea and arginine were effective, to varying degrees, in elution of the bound proteins. The bound contaminating proteins and BSA were effectively eluted with ethylene glycol and the bound antibodies were finally eluted with aqueous arginine solutions at neutral pH. MEP showed selectivity toward BSA and hence utility for removing BSA from the samples. Interestingly, Fc-fusion proteins derived from silkworm larvae showed no detectable binding. Serum proteins present in silkworm larvae strongly competed with the Fc-fusion proteins and monoclonal antibody for binding to MEP resin, while the same Fc-fusion proteins can be readily purified in one-step by Protein-A resin, again confirming weak selectivity of the MEP resin.

Objective: To evaluate the influence of different cleaning methods, surface treatments, and aging on the repair bond strength to a CAD/CAM glass-ceramic.
Materials And Methods: Forty-eight lithium disilicate CAD/CAM ceramic blocks were fabricated, sintered, and embedded in acrylic resin. After contamination with human saliva, they were divided according to the factors "Cleaning method" (Control-water/air spray, Air-particle abrasion with AlO, Ivoclean cleaning paste), "Surface treatment" (5% Hydrofluoric acid-HF + Silane, Monobond Etch & Prime-MEP), and "Aging" (thermocycling, no thermocycling).
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of simplified ceramic surface treatments on the microshear bond strength (μSBS) of 2 resin cements to a zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) material. Blocks of ZLS were sectioned to obtain a total of 90 specimens (1.5 mm thick), which were assigned to 9 different surface treatment protocols (n = 10).

Objectives: This study aims to assess and compare the micro-shear bond strength (SBS) of a novel resin-modified glass-ionomer luting cement functionalized with a methacrylate co-monomer containing a phosphoric acid group, 30 wt% 2-(methacryloxy) ethyl phosphate (2-MEP), with different substrates (dentin, enamel, zirconia, and base metal alloy). This assessment is conducted in comparison with conventional resin-modified glass ionomer cement and self-adhesive resin cement.
Materials And Methods: In this study, ninety-six specimens were prepared and categorized into four groups: enamel (A), dentin (B), zirconia (C), and base metal alloys (D).

As one of the largest and most diverse classes of specialized metabolites in plants, terpenoids (oprenoid compounds, a type of bio-based material) are widely used in the fields of medicine and light chemical products. They are the most important secondary metabolites in coniferous species and play an important role in the defense system of conifers. Terpene synthesis can be promoted by regulating the expressions of terpene synthase genes, and the terpene biosynthesis pathway has basically been clarified in , in which there are multiple rate-limiting enzymes and the rate-limiting steps are difficult to determine, so the terpene synthase gene regulation mechanism has become a hot spot in research.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of pretreatment with a self-etching primer for bonding aligner attachments to lithium disilicate (LD) and monolithic zirconia (MZ) ceramics.
Methods: Forty ceramics, including LD (n=20) and MZ (n=20), were divided into four study groups according to the surface pretreatments: LD specimens pretreated with universal primer (Monobond Plus, MP) after hydrofluoric acid etching (Group 1); MZ ceramics pretreated with MP after sandblasting (Group 2); LD ceramics pretreated with self-etching ceramic primer (Monobond etch & prime, MEP) (Group 3); and MZ ceramics pretreated with MEP after sandblasting (Group 4). The aligner composite (GC Aligner Connect) and universal adhesive (GPremio Bond) were used to prepare the resin attachments.
