Background: Amputation confers disabilities upon patients and is associated with substantial cardiovascular and metabolic morbidity and mortality. We aimed to compare the incidence of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) between individuals with amputation and the general population.
Methods: A population-based retrospective cohort study was performed using the Nationwide Health Insurance Service database for the period between 2010 and 2018.

Introduction: The reverse sural flap (RSF) is a random-type, pedicled flap based on sural artery perforators indicated for traumatic lower-extremity wounds. The RSF has demonstrated comparable results to free flap placement in the adult population for reconstruction of distal third defects, but few reports describe its application and outcomes in the pediatric population.
Methods: We investigated RSF application in pediatric patients (<18 years of age) through systematic review and meta-analysis.

Acute, traumatic distal biceps tendon ruptures are a common injury in the middle-aged athletic male population, with direct anatomic surgical repair being the most effective technique to restore maximal strength. Multiple techniques for distal biceps tendon repair have been described, including single- or dual-incision approaches and tendon fixation with cortical buttons, interference screws, suture anchors, and transosseous sutures. In this Technical Note, we demonstrate an anatomic distal biceps tendon repair technique with a single-incision approach using 2 all-suture cortical buttons.

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the nonoperative management of Gartland Type II fractures in pediatric patients.
Recent Findings: Supracondylar humeral fractures (SCF) are one of the most common traumatic fractures in pediatric populations, characterized as transverse fractures at the distal humerus between the medial and lateral columns. Early studies strongly opposed closed reduction and casting as an acceptable treatment modality for Gartland type II fractures as an early case series showed high rates of complications; however, more recent studies have suggested better outcomes.

On 13-14 April 2024, Iran launched ∼300 drones and missiles at Israel, in an unprecedented attack. As most studies examine the effects of trauma months or years later, less is known about its effects days later. To fill this gap, this study gauged the population response, five days after the attack.
