Fully coherent searches (over realistic ranges of parameter space and year-long observation times) for unknown sources of continuous gravitational waves are computationally prohibitive. Less expensive hierarchical searches divide the data into shorter segments which are analyzed coherently, then detection statistics from different segments are combined incoherently. The novel method presented here solves the long-standing problem of how best to do the incoherent combination. The optimal solution exploits large-scale parameter-space correlations in the coherent detection statistic. Application to simulated data shows dramatic sensitivity improvements compared with previously available (ad hoc) methods, increasing the spatial volume probed by more than 2 orders of magnitude at lower computational cost.

Objective: To explore the effects of veno-venous extra corporeal carbon dioxide removal (V-V ECCOR) on local mechanical power and gas distribution in the lungs of patients with mild to moderate acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) receiving non-invasive ventilation.
Methods: Retrospective research methods were conducted. Sixty patients with mild to moderate ARDS complicated with renal insufficiency who were transferred to the respiratory intensive care unit (RICU) through the 96195 platform critical care transport green channel from January 2018 to January 2020 at the collaborative hospitals of Henan Provincial People's Hospital were enrolled.

This review summarizes the mechanism and role of physical activity in maintaining the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system. Bone adaptation to the mechanical environment occurs in skeletal regions subjected to the greatest stresses resulting from the nature of exercise, however, there is a varied response of bone tissue to mechanical loads depending on its material and structural properties (trabecular and cortical). The regulation of bone tissue metabolism during physical exercise is influenced by factors associated with mechanical stress (gravitational forces, impact loading, and muscular contractions) as well as by systemic mechanisms (hormones, myokines, cytokines).

A compact and fast radio-frequency (RF) source developed for Raman sideband cooling (RSBC) in trapped ion and cold atom experiments is presented. The source is based on direct digital synthesizer, advanced real-time infrastructure for quantum physics, and field programmable gate array. The source has a frequency switching speed of 40 ns and can output continuous μs-level time sequences for RSBC.

Agile control after the release of test mass is related to the success or failure of China's space gravitational wave detection program, such as TianQin and Taiji. In the release process, the test mass's motion state is complex and susceptible to collisions with the satellite cavity. In addition, the release capture control of the test mass uses electrostatic force, which is extremely small.

Background: Species generally exhibits evolutionary bias, adapting towards a specific direction rather than others, yet the underlying causes remains unknown.
Results: Here, we investigated evolutionary bias and its causes by conducting experimental evolution on Escherichia coli. We introduced an E.
