We study linear arrays of different number of quartic oscillators shaped in the form of a ring when Gaussian noise (temperature) is added. Frustration is introduced through periodic boundary conditions and repulsive, directional interactions between neighboring oscillators. We show that these systems have similar dynamic properties than the arrays of fluxgates magnetometers. We find that there is a critical number of oscillators separating the regimes arising for systems with few and many oscillators and show that they reach an optimum ordering for a nonvanishing temperature. We also find that they have a relaxation process with an infinite mean life that is typical of glassy systems.

Herein, we synthesized a novel injectable porous magnetic hydrogel (MHG) at room temperature using carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS), polydopamine (PDA), sodium alginate (SA), polyethyleneimine (PEI) and copper ferrite (CuFeO) as building blocks. The CMCS and SA as monomers provided good film-forming and anti-fouling properties for MHG. The PDA-coated CuFeO as a cross-linking agent improved the homogeneity, adsorption and electrocatalytic performance of MHG, but also generated a macroporous hydrogel structure which was beneficial for sensing applications.

Nanocomposites that mimic the characteristics of enzymes, commonly as nanozymes, can function as an efficient sensing material with high selectivity towards the targeted biological macromolecule. These nanozymes overcome of the challenges that arise when using natural enzymes as sensing material. This study presents a novel nanozyme, Copper Selenite (CuSeO) nanoparticles mounted on f-CNF, to electrochemically determine a potential cardiovascular biomarker, Glutathione (GSH).

With enrichment of tetracycline (TC) in ecosystems, its accurate detection has become a major concern. Noble-metal nano-particles have attracted great interest as potential materials for sensing applications because of their remarkable electrical properties and adaptability. Herein, a novel electro-chemical detection technique based on carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) as the support material is developed to detect TC with high precision.

This work aims to determine the mechanism of the photomechanical response of poly(Methyl methacrylate) polymer doped with the photo-isomerizable dye Disperse Red 1 using the non-isomerizable dye Disperse Orange 11 as a control to isolate photoisomerization. Samples are free-standing thin films with thickness that is small compared with the optical skin depth to assure uniform illumination and photomechanical response throughout their volume, which differentiates these studies from most others. Polarization-dependent measurements of the photomechanical stress response are used to deconvolute the contributions of angular hole burning, molecular reorientation and photothermal heating.
