A 45-year-old woman with chronic depression and currently receiving dual serotonergic therapy was transferred to our department with sudden dysbasia; she also reported an antecedent thunderclap headache. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a symmetrical bilateral acute infarction in the medial parietal lobe and severe vasoconstriction in the cerebral arteries. We diagnosed reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) and stopped the serotonergic drug regimen.

We herein report two cases of cathinone intoxication. The first case is about a drug addict who was admitted to the emergency room after the injection of an unknown compound. He presented with tachycardia, palpitations, mydriasis, dyspnea, dizziness, headache and nausea.

Public health reports contain limited information regarding the psychological and neurological symptoms of tick-borne diseases (TBDs). Employing a mixed-method approach, this analysis triangulates three sources of symptomology and provides a comparison of official public health information, case reports, medical literature, and the self-reported symptoms of patients with Lyme disease and other TBDs. Out of the fifteen neuropsychiatric symptoms reported in the medical literature for common TBDs, headaches and fatigue and/or malaise are the only two symptoms fully recognized by public health officials.
