Osteoarthritis (OA) is a major source of chronic pain and disability, representing a significant global health concern that affects 10-15 % of individuals aged over 60, with a higher prevalence among females than males. This investigation aimed to evaluate the impact of a dietary supplement containing collagen peptides (MW 1-3 kDa) on knee OA symptoms and inflammatory biomarkers such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). Adults aged 30-81 years (50 % female) with grade II or III OA and a minimum pain score of 40 on the 0 to 100 visual analogue scale (VAS) were enrolled.

Objective: To assess CXC chemokine receptor 5 (CXCR5) circulating DNA methylation differences in autoimmune rheumatic diseases and their relation with clinical features.

Methods: Targeted methylation sequencing was performed using peripheral blood from 164 rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 30 systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 30 ankylosing spondylitis (AS), 30 psoriatic arthritis (PsA), 24 Sjögren's syndrome (SS) patients, and 30 healthy controls (HC).

Results: Significant differences in CXCR5 cg19599951 methylation were found between RA and HC, as well as AS and SLE.

One of the key parameters that affects efficiency, power density and performance of a supercapacitor (SC) is the equivalent series resistance (ESR). In this study we propose a method to estimate ESR from the charging kinetics which has practical applications. Therefore, to study the ESR of the SC we must look at the different factors that affect this resistance.

Purpose: Redox homeostasis plays a key role in regulating the overall health and development of organisms. This study aimed to develop a compact and mobile continuous-wave (CW) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) imager to facilitate stable, highly sensitive fast three-dimensional (3D) whole-body imaging of nitroxide-infused mice.

Methods: A multiturn loop gap resonator with a diameter of 30 mm and length of 35 mm was designed for whole-body EPR imaging.

Background  Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a multifaceted autoimmune disorder with diverse clinical presentations, among which hematological abnormalities often serve as early and critical indicators of disease. These manifestations, including anemia, leukopenia, lymphopenia, and thrombocytopenia, correlate with disease activity and provide essential diagnostic insights, particularly in resource-limited settings where access to advanced diagnostic tools may be constrained. This study emphasizes the significance of hematological findings that frequently appear at the initial presentation of SLE.
