A 67-year-old woman was referred to our hospital because of right pleural effusion. She had eaten boiled crab, Eriocheir japonicus, raw crab of an unknown species, and broiled wild boar several years ago. The punctured pleural fluid was characterized by an exudative nature, milky-white color, and high cholesterol concentration, indicating pseudochylothorax. High titers of anti-Paragonimus westermani antibody in the pleural fluid and serum, assessed by microplate ELISA, established the diagnosis of Paragonimiasis Westermani. Treatment with praziquantel at 75 mg/kg for 3 days, for 2 repeated courses, ameliorated the pleural effusion and decreased the antibody titers. An exhaustive search of the literature failed to find a similar case of pseudochylothorax associated with P. westermani.
Aim: This study aims to compare the efficacy of modified single-incision surgery with that of traditional modified Ravitch surgery for the repair of pectus excavatum in pediatric patients.
Methods: In this retrospective study, we included patients who underwent surgical correction for sternal depression from January 2015 to December 2020 across four major medical centers. Patients were categorized into two specific groups on the basis of the surgical technique employed: the modified single-incision surgery group, which comprised patients treated using the novel single-incision approach, and the traditional modified Ravitch surgery group, which included patients who received the conventional Ravitch surgery with multiple incisions.
Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) is a malignancy of the lymphocytes in the lymph nodes and presents with non-specific systemic symptoms like fever, night sweats, and weight loss. While HL often involves the mediastinum, it rarely causes superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, and eosinophilia is noted in approximately 15% of cases. Here, we report a unique presentation of HL in a 52-year-old male with a history of chronic pruritus, chronic kidney disease, and inactive hepatitis B.

Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, an exceedingly rare and aggressive primary cardiac tumor arising from mesenchymal stem cells, is associated with poor prognosis and high mortality despite adequate treatment. A 52-year-old female presented with a 2-month history of angina and dyspnea on exertion. Her clinical history included severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 myocarditis and iron deficiency anemia.
