Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare, often idiopathic, noninfectious inflammatory neutrophilic dermatitis that causes painful ulcerative cutaneous papillomatous lesions. PG often mimics surgical infection, wound dehiscence, and postoperative cellulitis, leading to high rates of misdiagnosis and mistreatment. Here, a healthy 17-year-old adolescent girl with congenital breast asymmetry, macromastia, and a history of only mild intermittent autoimmune conditions developed an open wound along her inferior left breast incision 2 weeks after reduction mammoplasty.

Autoimmune hypothyroidism is categorized into Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) and atrophic thyroiditis (AT). Although a consensus exists among Japanese endocrinologists that pediatric AT is associated with severe hypothyroidism, the question remains whether AT and HT are separate conditions. To investigate the clinical characteristics of pediatric AT, we conducted a comprehensive literature review using PubMed and ICHUSHI, a local database.

Background: Disproportionately enlarged subarachnoid space hydrocephalus (DESH) is one of the neuroradiological characteristics of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), which makes statistical analyses of brain images difficult. This study aimed to develop and validate methods of accurate brain segmentation and spatial normalisation in patients with DESH by using the Computational Anatomy Toolbox (CAT12).
Methods: Two hundred ninety-eight iNPH patients with DESH and 25 healthy controls (HCs) who underwent cranial MRI were enrolled in this study.
