Experiment shows that the vascular contraction responsible for Bier's spotting prevails over the local vasodilatation due to mechanical injury of the skin, and causes the local reddening to blanch. It is without effect, however, upon the local vasodilatation caused by histamine pricked into the skin. The results raise doubts concerning the validity of the hypothesis referring all local vasodilatations to the action of a single chemical substance or set of substances ("H substance"), liberated within the tissues.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by abnormal dilation of microvessels in the dermal papillary layer. Multiple studies have demonstrated that vascular endothelial cells regulate vascular function rather than merely acting as passive barriers. Piezo1 serves as a critical mechanical switch, sensing mechanical changes induced by vasodilation.

Women with endometriosis, an inflammatory disease, are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease and demonstrate impaired microvascular endothelial function, characterized by reduced nitric oxide (NO)-mediated vasodilation. In some clinical cohorts, nuclear factor-kappaB (NFκB) inhibition with salsalate improves endothelial function. We hypothesized that salsalate would improve cutaneous microvascular endothelial function in women with endometriosis.

Purpose: Acupoint Zusanli (ST36) has been shown to reduce blood pressure, but the underlying mechanism remains unknown. This study aimed to characterize the effects of manual acupuncture (MA) at ST36 on BP and its associated mechanisms in anesthetized rats.
Methods: The cardiovascular response to MA at ST36 in Sprague-Dawley rats was measured by electrocardiogram, hemodynamic methods, heart rate variability, echocardiography, laser speckle contrast imaging, and Western blotting.

Menopause is associated with vascular dysfunction. During the menopausal transition, endogenous oestradiol concentrations diminish. Oestradiol is vasoprotective because it has direct and indirect effects on the vasculature.

Background: Myocardial ischemia (MI) threatens the health of middle-aged and older adults by reducing cardiac oxygen supply and function. Current therapies, including vasodilation, thrombolysis, and interventions, focus on relieving symptoms and improving blood flow but do not adequately address underlying energy metabolism issues. Ligustilide exerts a protective effect on the cardiovascular system and holds the potential for ameliorating MI; however, there is currently no systematic elucidation of ligustilide's target and action mechanism for MI.
