Myocardial extracellular volume fraction (ECV) measured via MRI serves as a quantitative indicator of myocardial fibrosis. However, accurate measurement of ECV using MRI in the presence of AF is challenging. Meanwhile, CT could be a promising alternative tool for measuring ECV regardless of sinus rhythm or AF.

Background And Aims: Cardiotoxicity from immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy is a challenge in clinical practice, and the assessment of ICI-related myocarditis (ICI-M) is often complicated by a variable phenotype. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is used frequently, but evidence is poor. Here, we aim to assess the role of CMR in the assessment of suspected ICI-M in a real-world clinical setting.

Masquerading bundle branch block (MBBB) is a rare presentation of bifascicular blocks. It is the result of a right bundle branch block associated with an advanced left anterior fascicular block due to extensive damage to the conduction system. We present the case of a 75-year-old male with late onset presentation anterior wall myocardial infarction (MI) with ongoing ischemia (which evolved into a ventricular septal defect [VSD]).

Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) and takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) are cardiac conditions that can occur in the peripartum period. They have distinct characteristics and incidence rates; although rare, both contribute to the second leading cause of all-cause maternal mortality in the state of Missouri. PPCM can lead to heart failure, and TCM can cause acute arrhythmias leading to sudden cardiac death in otherwise healthy individuals.

Parametric mapping has become a standard of care technique for the non-invasive assessment of myocardial edema and fibrosis. Conventional MOLLI-based T1 mapping is susceptible to many confounding effects particularly in the pediatric population. The requirement for compliant breath holds is a major limitation for younger or more ill patients.
