Case Report: Two Myxomas of Different Echodensities on Transthoracic Echocardiography in One Patient.

Front Cardiovasc Med

Department of Cardiology, School of Clinical Medicine, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

We report a rare case of coincidental left atrial and right ventricular myxomas manifesting as masses with different echodensities on transthoracic echocardiography. This patient had a history of left atrial myxoma, left intra-left internal carotid artery myxoma, and facial cutaneous myxoma 3 years prior to admission. A Carney complex was suspected, and the patient subsequently tested positive for mutations.

Left ventricular thrombus (LVT) has been identified to be crucial in patients with reduced ejection fraction (EF). Three-dimensional cine phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI) can visualize the intra-LV vortex during diastole and quantify the maximum flow velocity (Vmax) at the apex. In this study, we investigated whether the change in the intra-LV vortex was associated with the presence of LVT in patients with cardiac disease.

Purpose: To investigate the influence of changes in vortices within the left ventricle (LV) on energy efficiency (EE) in normal and diseased hearts.

Methods: We performed vector flow mapping echocardiography in 36 normal participants (N), 36 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (D), and 36 patients with LV hypertrophy (H). The circulation of the main anterior vortex was measured as a parameter of vortex strength.

Purpose: In this study, we evaluated the electromechanical properties of atriums in patients with masked hypertension by using tissue Doppler echocardiographic technique to predict the predisposition to atrial arrhythmias.

Methods: A total of 118 subjects were included in the study. Twenty-four-hour blood pressure monitorization (ABPM) was used to determinate the masked hypertension in the study group.
