The use of structured light for object localization in diffusive media is discussed. The improvement of spatial resolution is shown. Phase detection of the spatially modulated light is proposed as a method for the localization of inclusions in the medium. Fast three-dimensional localization of an absorbing object based on finite-element analysis reconstruction is demonstrated with experimental data.

An 8-week-old, 3.4-kg infant, who was diagnosed prenatally with tetralogy of Fallot and absent pulmonary valve syndrome, was intubated after birth and failed extubation due to severe tracheobronchomalacia. He was deemed inoperable prior to being transferred to our institution.

Several studies were focused on the application of MIL-100(Fe) (FeO(OH)(HO)(BTC), HBTC is 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid) in the photo-Fenton reaction, but it still suffers from low efficiency. In this work, MIL-100(Fe) was synthesized at ambient conditions and low pHs using Fe(II) precursors in homogeneous aqueous media to develop a sample with high activity in the photo-Fenton reaction, even better than Fe-porphyrin metal-organic frameworks. The as-synthesized sample is highly crystalline with 30.

Understanding energy transport in semiconductors is critical for the design of electronic and optoelectronic devices. Semiconductor material properties, such as charge carrier mobility or diffusion length, are commonly measured in bulk crystals and determined using models that describe transport behavior in homogeneous media, where structural boundary effects are minimal. However, most emerging semiconductors exhibit nano- and microscale heterogeneity.

Alkylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are abundant constituents of many PAH mixtures and contribute to risk at contaminated sites. Despite their abundance, the movement of alkylated PAHs remains understudied relative to unsubstituted PAHs. In the present study, passive sampling devices were deployed in the air, water, and sediments at 11 locations across multiple seasons to capture spatial and temporal variability in the abundance and movement of alkylated PAHs at a Brownsfield creosote site in Oregon, USA.

The emergence of green chemistry and engineering principles to enforce sustainability aspects has ensured the prevalence of green solvents and green processes. Our study addresses this quest by exploring drug delivery applications of hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (DESs) which are alternative green solvents. Initially, this work showcases the hydrophobic drug solubilization capabilities of a natural hydrophobic DES, menthol, and decanoic acid.
