The optimal developmental stage for cryopreserving embryos in IVF-ET remains controversial. Our study demonstrates that besides an improvement in postthaw survival rate for day-1 and blastocyst cryopreserved ET over day-3, all three groups attained statistically similar implantation, clinical pregnancy, multiple, twinning, and male gender rates.

Effect of freezing and thawing on ejaculated sperm and subsequent pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in IVF.

Background: Techniques for sperm cryopreservation have exhibited their potential in male fertility preservation. The use of frozen-thawed sperm in fertilization (IVF) cycles is widespread today. However, many studies reported that cryopreservation might have adverse effects on sperm DNA integrity, motility, and fertilization, probably due to cold shock, intra- and extracellular ice crystals, and excess reactive oxygen species (ROS).

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of cholesterol supplementation at various concentrations in cryopreserved Pantaneiro bovine semen on in vitro embryo production (IVEP). Grade I and II cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were collected from ovaries retrieved from a commercial slaughterhouse and matured in vitro for 24 h. The matured COCs were divided into four groups based on the concentration of cholesterol -loaded cyclodextrin (CLC) during semen cryopreservation from a Pantaneiro breed bull: Control (C) - 0 mg/mL CLC, T1 - 0.

Background: In freeze-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles, hormone replacement treatment (HRT) is crucial for implantation and pregnancy maintenance. HRT typically continues until the 10th week of pregnancy owing to a luteoplacental shift, although a definitive HRT regimen remains undetermined. We present the case of a woman who underwent FET during an HRT cycle and ceased HRT after a negative pregnancy test at 3 weeks and 5 days, who went on to deliver a healthy baby.

Electronic address:

This study examined the effect of supplementation of freezing extender with isoglycyrrhizin (ISL), a natural antioxidant agent, on the quality and fertility potential of goat spermatozoa after cryopreservation. Forty ejaculates were collected from eight Chongming White rams and diluted with five concentrations of ISL: 0 (control group), 50, 100, 150, and 200 μg/mL. The quality, motility parameters, antioxidant properties, mRNA expression of antioxidant and ferroptosis genes, and ability to induce fertilization, were evaluated following freezing/thawing.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a predictive model for assessing clinical pregnancy probabilities in patients undergoing frozen-thawed cycles with single Day 6 blastocyst transfers.

Methods: We conducted a two-center retrospective cohort study analyzing 1,381 frozen-thawed single Day 6 blastocyst transfer cycles from June 2016 to December 2022. The primary outcome was the clinical pregnancy rate per cycle.
