Unlabelled: Currently, there are a number of databases which store microRNA (miRNA) information, and tools available which provide miRNA target prediction. In this article, we describe a novel web-based tool that integrate the miRNA-targeted mRNA data, protein-protein interactions (PPI) records, tissues, biochemical pathways, human disease and gene function information to establish a disease-related miRNA target pathway database. This database is unique in the sense that it links miRNA target genes with their PPI partners according to being tissue- and diseases-specific or both. The same approach is also applied to siRNA data. This database provides two types of searches: (i) tissue- and (ii) disease-specific miRNA (or siRNA) targeting pathways. The search allows one to identify tissue- or disease-specific miRNA (or siRNA) target gene's PPI partners two levels beyond.

Precisely regulated spermatocyte growth, differentiation, and apoptosis are crucial for sustainable male fertility. miR-143 has been demonstrated to regulate gene expression and cell apoptosis in various human cancers. However, the function of mmu-mir-143 (miR-143) in mammalian testes and its underlying mechanism remains unexplored.

Recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) has emerged as one of the best gene delivery vectors for human gene therapy in vivo. However, the clinical efficacy of rAAV gene therapy is often hindered by the host immune response against its transgene products. Endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1 (ERAP1) is specialised to process peptides presented by class I molecules of major histocompatibility complex.

The dysregulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) represents a critical aspect of tumorigenesis. In this study, we investigated the diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic aspects of the MMPs in SKCM. Thirteen SKCM cell lines and seven normal skin cell lines were cultured under standard conditions for experimental analyses.

Mutations in the KRAS gene are well-known tumourigenic drivers of colorectal, pancreatic and lung cancers. Mechanistically, these mutations promote uncontrolled cell proliferation and alter the tumour microenvironment during early carcinoma stages. Given their critical carcinogenic functions, significant progress has been made in developing KRAS inhibitors for cancer treatment.

Delayed wound closure is a significant hallmark associated with diabetes. A previous study from our laboratory identified decreased levels of Dicer and miRNAs together with altered levels of wound healing genes in the wounded tissues of diabetic rats. Comprehensive regulators of these wound healing genes mapped onto the PRC2 (polycomb repressive complex 2) complex.
