Objective: To improve inversion-polymerase chain reaction (I-PCR) in detection of factor VIII (FVIII) intron 22 inversion for gene diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of hemophilia A (HA).
Methods: The modified I-PCR was applied to detect FVIII intron 22 inversion in 8 families with HA. The prenatal diagnosis was performed for 2 pregnant women in the families. The fetal blood samples were obtained by cordocentesis at 22 and 26 weeks gestation respectively.
Results: Four of 8 HA families were diagnosed to be FVIII intron 22 inversion. Two fetuses were identified to be normal and one of them was born normal.
Conclusion: The modified I-PCR enables the gene diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of FVIII intron 22 inversion more accurately and rapidly.

Objectives: Hemophilia A (HA) is an X-linked recessive inherited bleeding disorder that typically affects men. Women are usually asymptomatic carriers, and rarely presenting with severe or moderately severe phenotype. This study aims to describe a case of a 17-year-old girl with moderate HA, investigating the mechanisms of her condition and the genetic basis within her family.

Hemophilia A (HA) is an inherited condition that is characterized by a lack of coagulation factor VIII (FVIII), which is needed for blood clotting. To produce recombinant factor VIII (rFVIII) for treatment, innovative methods are required. This study presents a thorough examination of the genetic engineering and biotechnological methods that are essential for the production of this complex process.

Hemophilia A (HA) is an X-chromosome-linked recessive genetic disorder. Female carriers may have bleeding symptoms, but rarely have moderate or severe disease. We identified a female patient with moderate HA by pedigree tracking and genetic testing in a HA family involving consanguineous marriage.
