An all-solid-state optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with signal and idler waves tunable over the ranges 481-457 and 1355-1590 nm, respectively, has been developed. Radiation at 1064 nm from a diode-laser-pumped Nd:AG laser (delivering 10-mJ Q-switched pulses of 18-ns duration at rates of 10-100 Hz) is frequency tripled at efficiencies near 30% and then used to pump the lithium triborate OPO, thus an all-solid-state configuration is realized. Oscillation thresholds (0.4 mJ), pump depletions (50%), external efficiencies (27%), and temperature-tuning rates (signal -0.11 nm/ degrees C, idler +0.87 nm/ degrees C) for the OPO are reported.

The demand for non-invasive, real-time health monitoring has driven advancements in wearable sensors for tracking biomarkers in sweat. Ammonium ions (NH) in sweat serve as indicators of metabolic function, muscle fatigue, and kidney health. Although current ion-selective all-solid-state printed sensors based on nanocomposites typically exhibit good sensitivity (~50 mV/log [NH]), low detection limits (LOD ranging from 10 to 10 M), and wide linearity ranges (from 10 to 10 M), few have reported the stability test results necessary for their integration into commercial products for future practical applications.

The interfacial incompatibility between lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) and anode greatly deteriorates the performance of thin-film all-solid-state supercapacitors (ASSSCs). This article investigates oxygen plasma treatment to improve the interface. Through appropriate plasma treatment, a LiO/LiPO composite layer is formed by replacing nitrogen with oxygen at the LiPON surface owing to strong reactivity of oxygen plasma.

There has been a longstanding doubt that the conversion efficiency of high harmonics in solids is much lower than expected at such a high level of electron density. To address this issue, we revisit the dynamical process of high harmonic generation (HHG) in solids in terms of wavelet interference. We find that the constructive interference among the wavelets has intrinsic consistency with the phase matching of coupled waves in nonlinear optics, which we call Bloch-wave phase matching.

Interfacial stability is one of the critical challenges in all-solid-state Li metal batteries. Multiple processes such as solid electrolyte (SE) decomposition and lithium dendrite growth take place at the solid interfaces during cycling, leading to the overall cell failure. To deconvolute these complex processes, in situ characterization is of paramount importance to elucidate the interfacial evolution on the SE upon Li plating/stripping.
