We investigate numerically the negative refraction of a simultaneous normal and parallel incidence planar left-handed metamaterial (LHM) in this paper. This LHM is comprised of fourfold C-shaped rings, which are printed on both sides of the substrates symmetrically, and it can exhibit left-handed properties with electromagnetic wave incident in three different directions. The retrieved result and the simulated result verify the left-handed properties of the fourfold C-shaped metamaterial very well. Then the different electric responses of the normal and parallel incidence cases to the incident electromagnetic wave are discussed, and it is due to the different distribution of the induced currents in the metallic wires.

Cancer cells often display centrosome amplification, requiring the kinesin KIFC1/HSET for centrosome clustering to prevent multipolar spindles and cell death. In parallel siRNA screens of deubiquitinase enzymes, we identify OTUD6B as a positive regulator of KIFC1 expression that is required for centrosome clustering in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. OTUD6B can localise to centrosomes and the mitotic spindle and interacts with KIFC1.

This paper presents a microperforated panel (MPP) sound absorber with parallel coiled-up-cavities of different-depths (PCD) and the corresponding optimization on their cavities. In this study, an analytical model is initially proposed for estimating the cavity depths of the PCD-MPP absorber upon normal incidence absorption coefficient evaluation at given resonance frequencies. Cavity effective depths and normal incidence absorption coefficient are evaluated after coiling up cavities for a compact structure.

Cell collectives, like other motile entities, generate and use forces to move forward. Here, we ask whether environmental configurations alter this proportional force-speed relationship, since aligned extracellular matrix fibers are known to cause directed migration. We show that aligned fibers serve as active conduits for spatial propagation of cellular mechanotransduction through matrix exoskeleton, leading to efficient directed collective cell migration.

The immune composition of solid tumors is typically inferred from biomarkers, such as histologic and molecular classifications, somatic mutational burden, and PD-L1 expression. However, the extent to which these biomarkers predict the immune landscape in gastric adenocarcinoma-an aggressive cancer often linked to chronic inflammation-remains poorly understood. We leveraged high-dimensional spectral cytometry to generate a comprehensive single-cell immune landscape of tumors, normal tissue, and lymph nodes from patients in the Western Hemisphere with gastric adenocarcinoma.
