The aim of this study is to verify the response of auricular skin to interoceptive stimuli in two groups of patients suffering from a gastroenteral pathology. Patients were submitted to a complete examination of auricle, in order to detect morphological alterations and painful points, and to a diagnostic digestive endoscopy. A group of patients took benzodiazepines at the moment of auricular examination; the second group did not take any drug. Results show that there is a significantly lower number of auricular painful points in the patients taking benzodiazepines in comparison with the patients who did not take such drug. In the patients treated with benzodiazepines the auricular diagnosis of painful points does not seem to be reliable.

Aims: This study aimed to describe the uptake of the Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP) in Eastern Ontario and evaluate the effectiveness of the program in the acquisition of knowledge, confidence, and skills required to manage chronic pain, as measured by the Patient Activation Measure (PAM).

Background: This video article describes the use of bone-anchored prostheses for patients with transtibial amputations, most often resulting from trauma, infection, or dysvascular disease. Large studies have shown that about half of all patients with a socket-suspended artificial limb experience limited mobility and limited prosthesis use because of socket-related problems. These problems occur at the socket-residual limb interface as a result of a painful and unstable connection, leading to an asymmetrical gait and subsequent pelvic and back pain.

Intussusception in adults is a rare condition often associated with a pathological lead point, which is frequently malignant but can occasionally be benign, such as colonic lipomas. We report the case of a 60-year-old male who presented with colicky abdominal pain, and a computed tomography (CT) revealed a colo-colic intussusception caused by a 6 cm lipoma in the transverse colon, accompanied by ischemic changes in the colonic mucosa. The patient underwent a right hemicolectomy, and histopathology confirmed the benign nature of the lesion.

A 12-lead electrocardiogram was performed while she was asymptomatic, showing large T waves in V to V. We report a not so known electrocardiographic pattern that can be particularly valuable for identifying patients at high risk of extensive myocardial infarction and its subsequent complications.
