The search for water on the surface of the anhydrous Moon had remained an unfulfilled quest for 40 years. However, the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) on Chandrayaan-1 has recently detected absorption features near 2.8 to 3.0 micrometers on the surface of the Moon. For silicate bodies, such features are typically attributed to hydroxyl- and/or water-bearing materials. On the Moon, the feature is seen as a widely distributed absorption that appears strongest at cooler high latitudes and at several fresh feldspathic craters. The general lack of correlation of this feature in sunlit M3 data with neutron spectrometer hydrogen abundance data suggests that the formation and retention of hydroxyl and water are ongoing surficial processes. Hydroxyl/water production processes may feed polar cold traps and make the lunar regolith a candidate source of volatiles for human exploration.

Rate coefficients for ion-polar-molecule reactions between acetonitrile molecules (CHCN) and nitrogen molecular ions (N), which are of importance to the upper atmospheric chemistry of Saturn's moon Titan, were measured for the first time at low translational temperatures. In the experiments, the reaction between sympathetically cooled N ions embedded in laser-cooled Ca Coulomb crystals and velocity-selected acetonitrile molecules generated using a wavy Stark velocity filter was studied to determine the reaction rate coefficients. Capture rate coefficients calculated by the Su-Chesnavich approach and by the perturbed rotational state theory considering the rotational state distribution of CHCN were compared to the experimental rate coefficients.

Sensitivity to ocular irritation varies among individuals, being influenced by clinical, subjective, and biochemical factors. This study aimed to evaluate individual variability in ocular irritation sensitivity, focusing on clinical parameters, pain perception, and tear neuromediator profiles. Sixty female participants aged 20-40 were classified into high-sensitivity and low-sensitivity groups based on their response to an irritant (Tween20).

The Chang'e-6 (CE-6) landing area on the far side of the Moon is located in the southern part of the Apollo basin within the South Pole-Aitken (SPA) basin. The statistical analysis of impact craters in this region is crucial for ensuring a safe landing and supporting geological research. Aiming at existing impact crater identification problems such as complex background, low identification accuracy, and high computational costs, an efficient impact crater automatic detection model named YOLOv8-LCNET (YOLOv8-Lunar Crater Net) based on the YOLOv8 network is proposed.

In this study, oil-in-water (O/W) high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) with enhanced antioxidative properties stabilized by octenyl succinic anhydride modified starch (OSAS)/(-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) mixtures were prepared. The influence of EGCG concentration (0-0.2 %, w/v), NaCl concentration (0-400 mmol/L), and temperature (25-90 °C) on the stability of the HIPEs was evaluated.

Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a leading cause of sudden cardiac death. Current diagnosis emphasizes the detection of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) using a fixed threshold of ≥15-mm maximum wall thickness (MWT). This study proposes a method that considers individual demographics to adjust LVH thresholds as an alternative to a 1-size-fits-all approach.
