Objectives: Despite being recognized for a long time as a characteristic of Parkinson's disease (PD), pseudobulbar affect (PBA) is still a symptom that is underdiagnosed and undertreated. This study aimed to assess the association between PBA and various mood disturbances, as well as the impact on quality of life in PD patients.
Methods: Sixty-eight patients with PD were enrolled in this study.

Background: The incidence of ESBL infections is exponentially increasing with variable prevalence among geographical areas and treatment settings. Identifying local prevalence rate and patient-related factors will help in earlier recognition and initiation of appropriate antibiotics treatment of patients with ESBL infections.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of all positive cultures for ESBL producing Enterobacteriaceae collected in Al-Khor hospital from January 2010 to December 2012.

Purpose: Management of the elderly patients presenting with open lower limb fractures is challenging due to physiological changes and pre-existing co-morbidities. The aim of this study was to assess the compliance with the British Orthopaedic Association's Standards for Trauma Number 4 (BOAST 4) guidelines in this patient group.
Methods: The study included a retrospective analysis of all the patients aged > 65 years old admitted with open lower limb fracture between 2017 and 2019 to a major trauma centre (MTC) in East of England.

Accumulating evidence supports the efficacy of (es)ketamine in the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), particularly treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Yet around 50% of the individuals with TRD do not respond to (es)ketamine. Elucidating predictors of response and remission could improve treatment outcomes at the individual level by defining subpopulations that are most likely to benefit from (es)ketamine.
