In 2016, the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) has revised the biokinetic models for carbon and tritium in Publication 134 to calculate the dose coefficients of these radionuclides for workers. The following publication for members of the public is now in the process of revising by the ICRP. According to the draft manuscript published for consultation in 2023, the same models will be adopted for members of the public, although the parameters in these models are not corroborated by the metabolic data of radionuclides in foods.

The As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle includes taking into account economic and societal factors. To consider these factors, decision-aiding techniques such as cost-benefit analysis were introduced by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) 50 y ago. Over the years, developments in health economics have led to new ways of deriving the concept of a value of a statistical life (VSL), which now is influencing the monetary value assigned to a unit of collective dose for radiological protection purposes (the α value) used in cost-benefit analyses.

In September 2022, the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) organised a workshop in Estoril, Portugal, on the 'Review and Revision of the System of Radiological Protection: A Focus on Research Priorities'. The workshop, which was a side event of the European Radiation Protection Week, offered an opportunity to comment on a recent paper published by ICRP on areas of research to support the System of Radiological Protection. Altogether, about 150 individuals participated in the workshop.

Objectives: Greenhouses have been rapidly developing in Egypt in the recent years so as to overcome the problem of water shortage required for agriculture because agriculture in protected houses provides about 20-40% of the water consumption from agriculture in open lands. Greenhouses are widely used to cultivate different kinds of plants. Greenhouses are considered spacious, enclosed areas, in close contact with airtight and soil.
