In the mixed-metal complex catena-poly[bis[diaquasilver(I)] [bis[aquacopper(II)]-mu(3)-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato-2':1:1'kappa(5)N,O(2):O(5):O(5),O(5')-mu-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato-2:1kappa(4)N,O(2):O(5),O(5')-disilver(I)-mu(3)-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato-1:1':2''kappa(5)O(5),O(5'):O(5):N,O(2)-mu-pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylato-1':2'''kappa(4)O(5),O(5'):N,O(2)] hexahydrate], {[Ag(H(2)O)(2)][AgCu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)].3H(2)O}(n), a square-pyramidal Cu(II) center is coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms from two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylate (2,5-pydc) ligands and a water molecule, forming a [Cu(2,5-pydc)(2)(H(2)O)](2-) metalloligand. One Ag(I) center is coordinated by five O atoms from three 2,5-pydc ligands and, as a result, the [Cu(2,5-pydc)(2)(H(2)O)](2-) metalloligands act as linkers in a unique mu(3)-mode connecting Ag(I) centers into a one-dimensional anionic double chain along the [101] direction. The other Ag(I) center is coordinated by two water molecules, forming an [Ag(H(2)O)(2)](+) cation. Four adjacent Ag(I) centers are associated by Ag...Ag interactions [3.126 (1) and 3.118 (1) A], producing a Z-shaped Ag(4) unit along the [010] direction and connecting the anionic chains into a two-dimensional layer structure. This study offers information for engineering mixed-metal complexes based on copper(II)-pyridinedicarboxylate metalloligands.

Aims/hypothesis: UK standard care for type 2 diabetes is structured diabetes education, with no effects on HbA, small, short-term effects on weight and low uptake. We evaluated whether remotely delivered tailored diabetes education combined with commercial behavioural weight management is cost-effective compared with current standard care in helping people with type 2 diabetes to lower their blood glucose, lose weight, achieve remission and improve cardiovascular risk factors.

Methods: We conducted a pragmatic, randomised, parallel two-group trial.

Coordinating the downstream ecological demand and the power generation demand of hydropower stations is an important task in the operation of reservoirs, and how to evaluate the ecological satisfaction of the scheduling process is a difficult problem that needs to be solved urgently. A multi-objective optimal reservoir scheduling model was constructed to coordinate the spawning flow demand of " Four Major Chinese Carps"; The model takes the maximum power generation and the maximum membership degree of downstream river ecological water demand as the objective functions, and uses the dynamic programming multi-objective solution algorithm based on penalty factors to solve the problem, and obtains the non-inferior solution set in each scenario. The multilayer entropy-weighted TOPSIS method was used to study the non-inferior solution of the multi-objective scheduling model of the Three Gorges Reservoir, and the satisfactory solution ranking of the river flow rise process, ecological flow-related requirements, and power generation water requirements was obtained under the four schemes including 4d ~ 7d, which improved the reliability of the evaluation results and made up for the shortcomings of the traditional TOPSIS method in terms of hierarchy and weight science.

As the rubber industry seeks sustainable alternatives to mitigate its environmental impact, this study introduces a biobased approach using polyfarnesene rubber reinforced with plasma-modified cellulose nanocrystals (MCNC) and nanofibers (MCNF). The nanocellulose was modified by plasma-induced polymerization using trans-β-farnesene and was characterized by FTIR, XPS, XRD, TGA, and SEM to confirm the grafting of farnesene-derived polymer chains onto the cellulose surface, demonstrating the successful modification and integration of the nanoparticles. Polyfarnesene bio-based rubbers were synthesized through two different polymerization techniques: solution-based coordination polymerization (PFA1) and emulsion-based free radical polymerization (PFA2).

Background: Limited data are available on the global rates of paediatric multiple sclerosis. Here, we report on the estimated worldwide prevalence of paediatric MS.

Methods: We included paediatric prevalence data in 2020-2022 (Multiple Sclerosis International Federation Atlas of MS) and the prevalence of child neurologists (International Child Neurology Association).
