Many proteins involved in cell signaling are phosphorylated. To determine the phosphorylation status of these signaling molecules at the single-cell level, we present a protocol for using state-specific antibodies to detect target phosphoproteins with fluorescence measurements by flow cytometry. To improve the signal intensity, a sandwich-labeling method for the analysis of signaling proteins is performed. By comparing the phosphorylation state of proteins in the presence and absence of sodium pervanadate, a nonspecific tyrosine phosphatase inhibitor, we determined the relative amount of tyrosine-phosphorylated protein in the samples, which reflects the activity of the signaling pathway. This dynamic approach, in combination with the signal amplification through a sandwich-labeling method, produces accurate and reproducible measurement of the activity of signaling pathways.

This study evaluates the oncolytic potential of the Moscow strain of reovirus against human metastatic melanoma and glioblastoma cells. The Moscow strain effectively infects and replicates within human melanoma cell lines and primary glioblastoma cells, while sparing non-malignant human cells. Infection leads to the selective destruction of neoplastic cells, mediated by functional viral replication.

This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluate human papillomavirus (HPV) prevalence, genotype distribution, and associations with cervicovaginal microbiota and cytokine profiles among South African women, where cervical cancer ranks as the second most common cancer. PubMed, SCOPUS, and Web of Science were searched for studies on HPV infection up to 21 September 2024. The pooled prevalence was estimated using a random-effects model, with subgroup analyses by province, sample type, and HIV status.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the safety profile of the recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) after its marketing in China.
Methods: We present a descriptive analysis and safety signal assessment of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) associated with RZV between September 2020 and December 2023. The descriptive data collected includes demographic characteristics and the classification of characteristics of AEFI cases, while vaccine safety signal assessment was evaluated using the reporting odds ratio (ROR).

This study presents a comprehensive method for detecting debonding defects in concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) structures using wave propagation analysis with externally attached piezoelectric ceramic sensors. Experimental tests and numerical simulations were conducted to evaluate the sensitivity and accuracy of two measurement techniques-the flat and oblique measurement methods-in detecting debonding defects of varying lengths and heights. The results demonstrate that the flat measurement method excels in detecting debonding height, while the oblique method is more effective for detecting debonding length.

This paper introduces a novel methodology for evaluating communication performance in rotating electric machines using Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) measurements coupled with artificial intelligence. The proposed approach focuses on assessing the quality of wireless signals in the complex, dynamic environment inside these machines, where factors like reflections, metallic surfaces, and rotational movements can significantly impact communication. RSSI is used as a key parameter to monitor real-time signal behavior, enabling a detailed analysis of communication reliability.
