Possibilities of application of non-ionic surfactants of Rofam type as solubilizers for piroxicam poorly dissolved in water were assessed. Homologous series of Rofams containing oxyethylene segments from 3 to 18 were used in the study. Tablet formulation was made by wet granulation technique using these surfactants in order to improve drug dissolution properties. Influence of both quantity and type of Rofam on morphological parameters of granules and tablets was investigated. All the examined parameters met the pharmacopeal norms. Paddle method was used to evaluate piroxicam pharmaceutical availability. The presence of non-ionic surfactants in composition of tablet mass improved dissolution rate of piroxicam.

Background: Hydrophilic matrices used as oral forms of sustained release drugs are a suitable application medium for short-acting nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) - ketoprofen. A properly selected hydrophilic matrix in oral preparations may significantly increase efficacy and application safety of ketoprofen.
Objectives: The aim of the research was to analyze the usefulness of polymers (synthetic Kollidon K25 and K90, semi-synthetic hydroxyethylcellulose) and calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate (as an inorganic filler) in manufacturing solid oral matrix forms of ketoprofen and to study of the effect of non-ionic surfactants (Tween 80, Rofam 70) on release kinetics.

As many substances are poorly soluble in water and thus possess decreased bioavailability, creating orally administered forms of these substances is a challenge. The objective of this study was to determine whether the solubility of megestrol acetate, a Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) class II drug, can be improved by using a newly-synthesized surfactant (Rofam 70: a rapeseed methyl ester ethoxylate) and compare it with two references surfactants (Tween 80, Pluronic F68) at three different pH values. Spectrophotometry was used to compare the solubility profiles in the presence of three tested surfactants at pH 5.

Systematic research has been conducted on the applying of Rofams (oxyethylathed rape oil methyl esters) as solubilizing agents of albendazole. Homologous series of Rofams containing average amount of oxyethylene units (nTE) ranging between 20 to 60 was used for investigation. An attempt has been made to apply investigated surface active agents as an auxiliary in production of model tablets with albendazole.

Belonging to the classes of: Rofams, Rokopols and Rokanols were used to form the gels soap base. The model gels extensibility was investigated by extensometric method, while their viscosity parameters were determined with cone-plate digital rheometer. Regardless of the applied gel vehicle, model prescriptions of dental anti-inflammatory gels with sodium ibuprofen have been worked out.
