Background: Nemonoxacin is a new quinolone with an antibacterial efficacy against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Certain sequence types (STs) have been emerging in Taiwan, including fluoroquinolone-resistant ST8/USA300. It's an urgent need to determine nemonoxacin susceptibility against ST8/USA300 and other emerging lineages, if any.

The emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogens presents a significant global health challenge, which is primarily fuelled by overuse and misuse of antibiotics. Bacteria-derived antimicrobial metabolites offer a promising alternative strategy for combating antimicrobial resistance issues. Bacillus velezensis PD9 (BvPD9), isolated from stingless bee propolis, has been reported to have antibacterial activities against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Infections caused by antibiotic-drug-resistant microorganisms are a major global health concern, and they result in millions of deaths every year. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of such drug-resistant microbial strains, and new and effective antimicrobial agents are desperately needed to combat infections caused by MRSA. In the search for effective anti-MRSA agents, the leaves of Citrus grandis (Rutaceae), also known as C.

Background: Surveillance cultures to identify patients colonized with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is recommended at pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) admission but doesn't capture other methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus and is resource intensive. We determined the prevalence and identified nasal microbiome predictors for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus colonization at the time of PICU admission.

Study Design: A prospective cohort study was performed in a 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) between 2020-2021.

Bovine mastitis is a considerable challenge within the dairy industry, causing significant financial losses and threatening public health. The increased occurrence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has provoked difficulties in managing bovine mastitis. Bacteriophage therapy presents a novel treatment strategy to combat MRSA infections, emerging as a possible substitute for antibiotics.
