Surgical treatment of typical bronchial carcinoid tumors varies from bronchoscopic excision to major resective procedures. Polypoid shaped typical carcinoid tumor detected in two female patients who were admitted to our clinic with the pre-diagnosis of asthma and lung cancer. In both cases, polypoid typical carcinoid tumors were excited by argon plasma coagulation using rigid bronchoscopy. It should not be forgotten that bronchoscopic approach and simple excision is an effective and safe procedures for the treatment of typical bronchial carcinoid tumors in selected cases these polypoid type lesions.

Lung neuroendocrine neoplasms are a group of diverse, heterogeneous tumours that range from well-differentiated, low-grade neuroendocrine tumours-such as typical and atypical carcinoids-to high-grade, poorly differentiated aggressive malignancies, such as large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) and small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). While the incidence of SCLC has decreased, the worldwide incidence of other pulmonary neuroendocrine neoplasms has been increasing over the past decades. In addition to the standard histopathological classification of lung neuroendocrine neoplasms, the introduction of molecular and sequencing techniques has led to new advances in understanding the biology of these diseases and might influence future classifications and staging that can subsequently improve management guidelines in the adjuvant or metastatic settings.

Introduction: Lung cancer is a major cause of cancer-related deaths, with 2 million new cases annually. Bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (BP-NETs) comprise about 20 % of lung cancers, including typical carcinoid tumors (TC). While tobacco is a primary risk factor, non-tobacco factors also play a role.

Conventional solid/liquid electrochemical interfaces typically encounter challenges with impeded mass transport for poor electrochemical quantification due to the intricate pathways of reactants from the bulk solution. To address this issue, this work reports an innovative approach integrating a target-activated DNA framework nanomachine with electrochemically driven metal-organic framework (MOF) conversion for self-sacrificial biosensing. The presence of the target biomarker serotonin initiates the DNA framework nanomachine by an entropy-driven circuit to form a cross-linked nanostructure and subsequently release the Fe-MOF probe.

Background/objective: Pulmonary carcinoid tumors are a rare cause of Cushing's syndrome and usually present with an indolent course. Here, we present a case of rapid onset and severe Cushing's syndrome due to a typical pulmonary carcinoid tumor.

Case Report: A 32-year-old woman developed diabetes, hypertension, and weight gain of 50 pounds over 3 months.

Description: Gastric cancer (GC) is a leading cause of preventable cancer and mortality in certain US populations. The most impactful way to reduce GC mortality is via primary prevention, namely Helicobacter pylori eradication, and secondary prevention, namely endoscopic screening and surveillance of precancerous conditions, such as gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM). An emerging body of evidence supports the possible impact of these strategies on GC incidence and mortality in identifiable high-risk populations in the United States.
