A series of enantiomerically pure mono- and bis-aryl tert-butyl sulfoxides were synthesised to promote the enantioselective allylation of aldehydes with allyltrichlorosilane. Moderate to good yields and modest to high enantioselectivities were achieved. The absence of nonlinear effect, spacer effect, promoter loading and concentration effect indicate that only one molecule of aryl tert-butyl sulfoxide is involved in the stereodetermining step.

Dicationic, -symmetrical, tris-chelate Pt(IV) complexes of general formula [Pt(trz)(N∧N)](OTf), bearing two cyclometalated 4-butyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1-1,2,3-triazol-5-ylidene (trz) ligands and one aromatic diimine [N∧N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy, ), 4,4'-di--butyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dbbpy, ), 4,4'-dimethoxi-2,2'-bipyridine (dMeO-bpy, ), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, ), 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bphen, ), dipyrido[3,2-:2',3'-]phenazine (dppz, ), or 2,3-diphenylpyrazino[2,3-][1,10]phenanthroline (dpprzphen, )] are obtained through chloride abstraction from [PtCl(trz)] () using AgOTf in the presence of the corresponding diimine. Complexes show long-lived phosphorescence from LC excited states involving the diimine ligand, with quantum yields that reach 0.18 in solution and 0.

Influenza is a disease of significant morbidity and mortality. The number of anti-influenza drugs is small; many of them stimulate the appearance of resistant strains. This article presents the results of assessing the antiviral activity of 1,2,3-triazole-containing derivatives of alkaloid lupinine for their ability to suppress the reproduction of orthomyxoviruses (influenza viruses: A/Vladivostok/2/09 (H1N1) and A/Almaty/8/98 (H3N2)).

The site-selective functionalization of aromatic compounds via C-H activation has emerged as a popular tool in organic synthesis. In this study, we report a regioselective coupling of maleimide to 2-arylbenzo[]thiazoles in the presence of a rhodium(III) catalyst. Depending upon the nature of the substituent (-group) present in the maleimide substrate, either mono- or bis-1,4-addition products were observed in this methodology.

Nucleophilic aromatic substitutions (SAr) of alkoxides on pentafluoroaryl ethers are explored as a first step in a synthesis sequence to generate all- 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorocyclohexyl-1,4-dialkyl ethers . The SAr reaction was explored both experimentally and theoretically to rationalize // selectivities. -Butyl deprotection of products followed by phenol alkylations introduces versatility to the synthesis.

We report a copper-catalyzed one-pot, multicomponent strategy for the convenient synthesis of -aryl 1,2,3-triazole-1-oxides using arylhydrazines, β-ketoesters, and -butyl nitrite. This mild and simple reaction proceeds in an atom-economic manner with broad substrate scope, affording a variety of -aryl 1,2,3-triazole-1-oxide derivatives. Other salient features of the reaction are good functional group tolerance, scalability, and product diversification.
