Celiac disease can be triggered by upper abdominal surgery, such as vagotomy, oesophagectomy, pancreaticoduodenectomy, and gastrojejunal anastomosis. Here we report a case of a 24 year-old woman who developed celiac disease after an ileal resection for perforated Meckel's diverticula. This is the first reported celiac case that has been triggered, not by upper abdominal surgery, but after ileal resection for Meckel's diverticula.

Aim: Crohn's disease (CD) is regarded as a wasting disease, yet there is a growing population of CD patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 and above. The rate of postoperative complications is relatively high in CD patients but might be even higher in CD with morbid obesity (MO).
Methods: This was a retrospective study using a prospectively maintained database of all patients undergoing Ileocolic resection for CD between 2014 and 2021 in two referral centres, comparing postoperative complication rates according to BMI.

We present a rare case of strangulated MD in a woman patient in her 90s, which required a small intestine resection. While hematochezia is common in Crohn's disease (CD), severe gastrointestinal hemorrhage causing hemodynamic instability is rare. Strictures, another frequent complication, usually cause obstructive symptoms. We report the first case of hemorrhagic shock from ulcerated ileal strictures as the initial presentation of CD.
