Objective: The enantiomer profiling of methamphetamine is can be utilized for regulation of the precursors, investigatin of the drug case.
Methods: In the present study, we investigated on the enantiomer of 114 crystalline methamphetamine samples seized in Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and Chengdu. The methamphetamine samples were derivatized with (S)-(+)-a-methoxya-(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetyl chloride ((S)-(+)-MTPACl), and the derivatives were analyzed by GC-MS in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode.
Results: Most of the seizures were pure S (+)-enantiomer (90.4%), but 3.5% (4 of 114 samples) contained R(-)-enantiomer above 1%.
Conclusion: This indicates that the majority of samples were prepared from either (1R, 2S)-(-)-ephedrine or (1S, 2S)-(+)-pseudoephedrine. At the same time, there were methamphetamine drugs synthesized from (1S, 2R)-(-)-ephedrine or (1R, 2R)-(+)-pseudoephedrine.

Chemical crop protection is one of the most cost-effective methods for agriculture, as crop failures can be prevented, and sustainable growth can be enabled regardless of the seasons. Agricultural production must be significantly increased in the future to meet the food needs of a growing world population. However, the continued loss of established active ingredients due to consumer perceptions, changing needs of farmers and ever-changing regulatory requirements is higher than annually new active ingredients introduced to the market.

An efficient stereoselective synthesis of 10-hydroxy-10-(1-indol-3-yl)-9-(10)-phenanthrene derivatives was realized through an organocatalyzed Friedel-Crafts reaction of phenanthrenequinones and indoles using a (,)-dimethylaminocyclohexyl-squaramide as the catalyst. Under the optimized conditions, the desired chiral products were obtained in good yields (73-90%) with moderate to high ee values (up to 97% ee). Two pairs of synthesized enantiomers were subjected to evaluation of their antiproliferative activities on four types of human cancer cell lines and one human umbilical vein endothelial cell line using the CCK-8 assay.

Dexibuprofen is the pharmacologically active enantiomer of ibuprofen. However, its application as an antipyretic in children with fever caused by upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) requires more evidence. This study aimed to compare the antipyretic effect between dexibuprofen and ibuprofen in children with fever caused by URTI.

This study focused on the synthesis, structural validation, and evaluation of the antiplasmodial efficacy of brachangobinan A (BA) and its enantiomers, (+)-BA and (-)-BA, as potential antimalarial agents. BA, (+)-BA, and (-)-BA were synthesized through chemical processes and validated via advanced spectroscopic techniques. In vitro studies were conducted to assess their efficacy against Plasmodium falciparum strains 3D7 and K1 by determining their half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC) values, cytotoxicity profiles, and selectivity indices.
