The structural features of the title compound were determined or examined by three diverse procedures: single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, solution spectroscopic procedures and Quantum mechanical theoretical calculations. The conformational asymmetry of the macrocycle provides the opportunity to form one strong NH···OC intermolecular hydrogen bond, as well as, a number of weak CH···OC bonds. The interior of the macrocycle has short approaches for NH(...)π and NH···S. The many weak hydrogen bonds cooperate to form a very hard, robust crystal. Crystal parameters: C(18)H(22)N(2)O(6)S(2), P2(1)2(1)2(1), a = 5.108(1) Å, b = 18.948(4) Å, c = 21.029(3) Å, α = β = γ = 90°. Quantum chemical calculations have provided a strong foundation for weak hydrogen bonds. Contrary to popular belief the present work has conclusively proved that the importance of weak hydrogen bonds are perhaps underestimated since calculations show that the energy of duplex are significantly lower then estimated from the identified hydrogen bonding.

Tumor immunotherapy has been widely used clinically, but it is still hindered by weak antitumor immunity and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Here, a kind of simple disodium hydrogen phosphate nanoparticle (Na2HPO4 NP) is prepared to "accelerate" tumor immunotherapy by "increasing throttle" and "relaxing brake" simultaneously. The obtained Na2HPO4 NPs release a large amount of Na+ and HPO42- ions within tumor cells, thereby activating the caspase 1/GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis pathway to achieve immune activation.

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) is a prebiotic that promotes the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, but lacks of regulatory function on harmful bacteria. In this study, chlorogenic acid (CGA) was used to achieve the functional enhancement of two LBPs (LBP-A and LBP-M). The combination of CGA resulted in changes in the solution properties of LBPs, manifested as increased pseudoplasticity, viscosity, turbidity, and decreased water mobility, absolute potential value, pH value.

(1,2)--Aminoindanol and (1,2)--aminoindanol, denoted as -AI and -AI, are diastereoisomer aromatic aminoalcohols differing by the presence of a weak intramolecular hydrogen bond in -AI, which is absent in -AI. They also differ by the number of conformers under supersonic jet conditions, one for -AI and two for -AI. One-photon and resonance-enhanced two-photon photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) spectra are obtained for the two molecules.

The water trimer, as the smallest water cluster in which the three-body interactions can manifest, is arguably the most important hydrogen-bonded trimer. Accurate, fully coupled quantum treatment of its excited intermolecular vibrations has long been an elusive goal. Here, we present the methodology that for the first time allows rigorous twelve-dimensional (12D) quantum calculation of the intermolecular vibration-tunneling eigenstates of the water trimer, with the monomers treated as rigid.
