Mechanism of nonhydrated phospholipid removal in soybean oil using aminopolycarboxylic acid ligands.

Food Chem

January 2025

Laboratory of Nutrition and Functional Food, College of Food Science and Engineering, Jilin University, Changchun 130062, PR China. Electronic address:

Herein, nonhydrated phospholipids (NHPs) were removed from soybean oil using three silica adsorbents modified using aminopolycarboxylic acid ligands. The removal rate of NHPs was 62.98 %.

In this article, we report on the research on the synthesis of composites based on a porous, highly ordered silica material modified by a metallic nanophase and chitosan biofilm. Due to the ordered pore system of the SBA-15 silica, this material proved to be a good carrier for both the biologically active nanophase (highly dispersed silver nanoparticles, AgNPs) and the adsorption active phase (chitosan). The antimicrobial susceptibility was determined against Gram-positive ATCC 25923, Gram-negative bacterial strains ( ATCC 25922, ATCC 700603, and ATCC 27853), and yeast ATCC 90028.

Glycerol, a by-product of biodiesel production through transesterification, presents an opportunity for biodiesel industries to transform surplus glycerol into high-value chemical products. This study focuses on the development of a series of propyl sulfonic acid functionalized (PrSOH) SBA-15 catalysts, synthesized by direct synthesis of 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in an acidic medium. The catalysts were evaluated for acetylation of glycerol with acetic acid under conditions optimized through response surface methodology.

Background: Periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) are a new class of organic-inorganic hybrid materials with high surface area, narrow pore size distribution, high functional group loading, and tunable functional groups. In contrast to other porous organosilicate materials, PMOs show a uniform distribution of organic groups inside their framework walls. They are synthesized by condensing bis-silylated organic precursors around a surfactant template.

Heterogeneous Catalysis of Molecular-Like AuM(PPh) Clusters Cultivated in Mesoporous SBA-15.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China.

It is a dream of researchers to be able to tailor the catalytic performances by adjusting heterogeneous catalysts at the atomic level. Atomically precise metal clusters provide us with the possibility to achieve this challenge. Here, we design a push-and-pull synthesis strategy coupled with TiO coating to prepare the heterogeneous catalysts denoted as TiO/AuM@SBA via cultivating atomically precise AuM(PPh) (M=Pd, Pt or Au; n=2 for Pd/Pt and 3 for Au) clusters in mesoporous molecular sieve.
