Primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disorder primarily affecting exocrine glands, that may occasionally present with severe extra-glandular manifestations. Although rarely, severe hypokalemia and respiratory muscle paralysis may be initial presentations. We report the case of a 33-year-old woman with a recent history of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) infection who presented with headache and generalized muscle weakness.

To analyze the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and treatment of pediatric myocardial infarction (MI) patients with coronary artery lesions (CAL) after Kawasaki disease (KD). Clinical data including baseline characteristics, KD and CAL information, clinical symptoms at MI onset, electrocardiogram (ECG) and imaging findings, MI treatment, and clinical outcomes of 41 MI patients with CAL after KD admitted to the Children's Hospital of Fudan University from January 2017 to August 2024 were analyzed retrospectively. Para-pneumonic effusion in children is often associated with bacterial infections; however, dual viral infections, including respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19, can also lead to severe respiratory complications, as demonstrated in this case. This case report presents the clinical course of a pediatric patient with both RSV and COVID-19 infections, leading to para-pneumonic effusion. A three-year-old girl with a history of asthma and prior febrile convulsions presented to the Emergency Department with fever, cough, vomiting, and fatigue.

Sjogren's disease (SjD) is a chronic and disabling autoimmune disease, predominantly characterized by dryness of the mouth and eyes, resulting from lymphocytic infiltration of exocrine glands. While these are the most prominent symptoms, extra-glandular manifestations are also common. Studies suggest that up to 70% of SjD patients experience neurological symptoms, which interestingly often precede the hallmark dryness.
