Single-shot, time-resolved measurements are presented to investigate the temporal coherence of the microwave emission for MgO based magnetic tunnel junction spin torque oscillators. The time-domain data reveal that the steady state regime obtained from frequency-domain analysis can be subdivided into two regimes as a function of spin polarized current amplitude. According to these two regimes, two mechanisms that limit the temporal coherence are identified. At low current, extinctions of the steady state oscillations lead to a very short coherence time on the order of a few nanoseconds, while at higher current, the extinctions vanish and the coherence time saturates around 40 ns. As an important result it is shown that the latter is limited by frequency fluctuations. Quenching these frequency fluctuations suggests an intrinsic linewidth that is by a factor of 20 below the one of the free running oscillator.

Nonlinear frequency upconversion of random fiber lasers can generate wavelength flexible visible light with low temporal coherence. In this work, we demonstrate wavelength-tunable blue light generation based on frequency tripling of a random Raman fiber laser (RRFL) in two cascaded periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystals. The RRFL can deliver watt-level and narrowband lasing in the spectral range of 1412-1435.

Binding the attributes of a sensory source is necessary to perceive it as a unified entity within its surrounding scene as in the cocktail party problem in auditory perception. It is postulated that coherent temporal modulation of a source's features binds them and enhances their perception. This study seeks evidence for rapid binding among coherently responsive single-neurons in ferret auditory cortex.

Purpose: To report an uncommon case of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease in an elderly patient with unilateral choroidal detachment and describe its multimodal imaging features and prognosis.
Method: Case report and literature review of clinical features in VKH with choroidal detachment.
Results: A 76-year-old woman presented with bilateral blurred vision and headache 6 months prior to visiting our hospital.

Purpose: Thyroid eye disease (TED) presents challenges in the accurate assessment of disease activity, especially concerning ocular surface manifestations. This study aims to evaluate the potential of anterior segment optical coherence tomography angiography (AS-OCTA) in quantifying vascular changes associated with TED, thereby enhancing understanding of its pathophysiology and aiding in diagnosis and management.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study involving 29 TED patients and 21 healthy controls.

Patients with Type 1 Diabetes (T1DM) have a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. This study used carotid ultrasound to identify subclinical carotid plaques and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to evaluate ophthalmological markers as predictors of carotid plaque presence in 242 adults with T1DM, employing machine learning models for early risk assessment. Individuals with carotid plaques (N = 67) did not show significant differences in retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and ganglion cell layer (GCL) and inner plexiform layer (IPL) complex compared to those without (N = 175).
