Objective: To study the effects of a brief patient-stress management training on the performance of general practitioners (GPs).

Methods: After training in the Minimal Intervention for Stress-related mental disorders with Sick leave (MISS), the performance of 24 GPs was compared with the usual care provided by 22 GPs. Outcome measures in this intervention were: assignment of a diagnosis, taking an activating approach and monitoring the symptoms.

Results: Twenty-three GPs completed the training. Outcomes showed that the training added to a psychosocial diagnosis. Other skills (using a questionnaire to make a diagnosis, handing out information leaflets and monitoring the symptoms) were to some extent improved by the training.

Conclusion: The result indicates limited adherence of GPs to the MISS. Only a few components of the training were actually applied after the training, and there is still ample room for improvement.

Practice Implications: More than the current 11h of training are probably needed to change the behaviour of GPs in general. Within educational programmes more attention should be given to the implementation of new behaviour, particularly when it concerns the treatment of patients with stress-related problems.

Department of Healthcare Economics and Quality Management, School of Public Health, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic, declared in March 2020, profoundly affected global health, societal, and economic frameworks. Vaccination became a crucial tactic in combating the virus. Simultaneously, the pandemic likely underscored the internet's role as a vital resource for seeking health information.

Background: Cervical cancer disparities persist among minoritized women due to infrequent screening and poor follow-up. Structural and psychosocial barriers to following up with colposcopy are problematic for minoritized women. Evidence-based interventions using patient navigation and tailored telephone counseling, including the Tailored Communication for Cervical Cancer Risk (TC3), have modestly improved colposcopy attendance.

Background: Upfront 2-stent techniques are often used in bifurcation percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), but there is controversy about optimal strategy selection.

Methods: The authors examined the clinical and angiographic characteristics and long-term outcomes of 232 bifurcation PCIs that were performed using the double kissing (DK) crush or culotte technique in 216 patients between 2014 and 2023 using data from the Prospective Global Registry for the Study of Bifurcation Lesion Interventions (NCT05100992). The inverse probability of treatment weighted (IPTW) Cox proportional hazards model was used to assess long-term outcomes.

The development of intelligent nanotheranostic technology that integrates diagnostic and therapeutic functions holds great promise for personalized nanomedicine. However, most of the nanotheranostic agents exhibit "always-on" properties and do not involve an amplification step, which may largely limit imaging contrast and restrict therapeutic efficacy. Herein, we construct a novel nanotheranostic platform (Hemin/DHPs/PDA@CuS nanocomposite) by assembling DNA hairpin probes (DHPs) and hemin on the surface of PDA@CuS nanosheets that enables amplified fluorescence imaging and activatable chemodynamic therapy (CDT) of tumors.

Background: The therapeutic targeting of the intestinal microbiota has gained increasing attention as a promising avenue for addressing mood disorders. This study aimed to assess the potential effect of supplementing standard pharmacological treatment with the probiotic kefir in patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

Methods: Thirty-eight female participants diagnosed with moderate MDD by the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAM-D) were selected to receive the probiotic kefir in conjunction with antidepressant therapy for 12 weeks.
