Perinatal mental health disorders are a significant contributor to morbidity and mortality in childbearing women. The World Health Organization recommends all women be screened for mental health disorders postnatally and have diagnostic and management services available. There are, however, currently no global indicators in use which measure the status and progress of perinatal mental health.

Recently, there has been burgeoning interest in the involvement of cholesterol metabolism in cancer. Squalene epoxidase (SQLE), as a critical rate-limiting enzyme in the cholesterol synthesis pathway, has garnered attention due to its overexpression in various cancer types, thereby significantly impacting tumor prognosis and resistance mechanisms. Firstly, SQLE contributes to unfavorable prognosis through diverse mechanisms, encompassing modulation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, manipulation of the cancer microenvironment, and participation in ferroptosis.

This work is devoted to the study of the static magnetization of immobilized multi-core particles (MCPs) and their ensembles. These objects model aggregates of superparamagnetic nanoparticles that are taken up by biological cells and subsequently used, for example, as magnetoactive agents for cell imaging. In this study, we derive an analytical formula that allows us to predict the static magnetization of MCPs consisting of immobilized granules, in which the magnetic moment rotates freely the Néel mechanism.

Metagenomic sequencing is increasingly being utilized to profile antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in various environments, but presently a mechanism for predicting future trends in ARG occurrence patterns is lacking. Capability of forecasting ARG abundance trends could be extremely valuable towards informing policy and practice aimed at mitigating the evolution and spread of ARGs.

The mental health workforce in the United States faces a significant challenge: a stark underrepresentation of African American practitioners. This disparity reflects broader issues of racial inequality in healthcare and has far-reaching implications for mental health care delivery, particularly within Black communities. This perspective examines the contributing factors to this underrepresentation, explores its consequences on patient care and research, and proposes strategies to increase diversity in the field.
