Experimental study of allostatic grafts of peripheral nerves showed that the regeneration of the nerve fibres occurs in a regulated manner with good vascularization. Clinical approbation of allografts in 90 patients in injury to the peripheral nerves with a large diastasis (more than 4 cm) revealed good regeneration of the nerve fibres with subsequent improvement of the function of the extremity. The method of alloplasty is indicated in large defects in injured peripheral nerves which make the performance of neurorrhaphy impossible.
