Background: Abnormal thyroid hormone levels may occur in critical illness, which may have an interactive relationship with inflammatory reaction. At present, the relationship between triiodothyronine (T3)/thyroxine (T4) ratio and inflammatory indicators and all-cause mortality of stroke survivors is still unclear.

Objective: Accelerated ageing indexed by telomere attrition is suggested in schizophrenia spectrum- (SCZ) and bipolar disorders (BD). While inflammation may promote telomere shortening, few studies have investigated the association between telomere length (TL) and markers of immune activation and inflammation in severe mental disorders.
Methods: Leucocyte TL defined as telomere template/amount of single-copy gene template (T/S ratio), was determined in participants with SCZ ( = 301) or BD ( = 211) and a healthy control group (HC, = 378).

Although several studies have demonstrated the synergistic antitumor effects of PDT and immune checkpoint blockage (ICB), the detailed underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the immunological effects of PDT with talaporfin (Tal-PDT), a clinically approved photosensitizer, using bilateral tumor-bearing mouse models.
