Objective: To estimate the association between the lengths of the first stage of labor, mode of delivery, and perinatal outcomes in women undergoing labor induction.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study of singleton, term pregnancies with labor induction and delivered during the second stage. The length of the first stage was examined by 6-hour intervals as predictors of mode of delivery and perinatal morbidity using chi(2) test and multivariable logistic regression analysis.
Results: There were 3620 women who met study criteria. Compared with women with a first stage between 0-12 hours, women with longer first stages had a higher risk of cesarean delivery during the second stage, up to an adjusted odds ratio of 7.44 in those with a first stage > or =24 hours (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.43-16.1). Women with a first stage > or =24 hours also had higher odds of postpartum hemorrhage (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 3.16; 95% CI, 1.73-5.79), chorioamnionitis (aOR, 2.83; 95% CI, 1.19-6.69), and neonatal admission to the intensive care nursery (aOR, 2.03; 95% CI, 1.10-3.74).
Conclusion: In women who underwent induction of labor, even when a second stage of labor was reached, the risk for cesarean delivery and maternal morbidity remained increased when the length of the first stage was longer than 24 hours. However, in this clinical scenario, the frequency of cesarean delivery remains less than 50%. The decision for surgical intervention thus should not be based on the elapse of time alone.

Background: Patients with or at risk for breast cancer may opt for risk-reducing gynecologic surgeries, including bilateral salpingo-oophorectomies and/or total abdominal hysterectomy. The timing and safety of combining these procedures with autologous breast reconstruction (ABR) are debated. This study assesses the impact of concurrent ABR and gynecologic surgeries on clinical and patient-reported outcomes.

In our previous study, three genes highly expressed in the roots of wheat were screened. To explore the effects of adverse stresses on the wheat root phenotype and the expression of , and , we measured the phenotypic parameters of the JM22 root system at the seedling stage after treatment with different concentrations of NaCl and PEG6000. Additionally, the relative expression levels of TaPSK3, TaPSK9, and TaPSK10 were analyzed via RT-qPCR within 72 h of treatment with 150 mM NaCl and 30% PEG6000.

Objectives: Compare the differences in perioperative clinical characteristics of lung cancer patients of different genders who have undergone VATS lobectomy, and explore the impact of these differences on the short-term prognosis of patients.
Methods: A total of 338 consecutive patients with lung cancer who underwent VATS lobectomy in our hospital from August 2021 to August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, they were divided into male group and female group. The perioperative characteristics and short-term prognosis of different groups were compared.

Background: Treating infectious bone defects combined with large soft-tissue lesions poses significant clinical challenges. Herein, we introduced a modified two-stage treatment approach involving the implantation of 3D-printed prostheses and flap repair to treat large segmental infectious tibial bone defects.
Method: We conducted a retrospective study of 13 patients treated at our center between April 2018 and March 2022 for tibial infections owing to posttraumatic infection and chronic osteomyelitis combined with soft tissue defects.
