Purpose: To evaluate the results of patient symptoms and radiologic outcomes of cystoretroperitoneal shunt (CRS) technique in the treatment of symptomatic simple renal cysts.
Patients And Methods: In a prospective study, 37 patients with a simple renal cyst were treated with ultrasound-guided percutaneous CRS-catheter. Radiological success was indicated as no recurrence of the cyst or a reduction in cyst volume by at least half.
Results: CRS technique was performed successfully in 36 patients with a simple renal cyst. The mean size of all cysts decreased from 8.8 cm (range 7 to 14) to 1.7 cm (range 0 to 9; P < .001). Symptomatic success (pain relief) was achieved in 29/36 (80.5%) of patients, and radiographic success was achieved in 23/36 (63.8%) of patients, with a median follow-up of 16 months (range 6 to 24).
Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous CRS technique for simple renal cysts is fast, safe, effective, and inexpensive.

Parathyroids are the key regulators of calcium-phosphorus metabolism. By means of parathyroid hormone they respond to any changes in the serum level of calcium and phosphorus ions and determine the integrity of skeleton, affecting almost all systems and cells where calcium and phosphorus are involved in metabolism and/or signaling.Disorders of parathyroid function are associated with significant complications accompanying secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Excipients have been identified as 'inert' substances that often enhance the non-pharmacological aspects of a medication. However, recent clinical evidence elucidates their potential in inducing anaphylaxis and indicates that they are often overlooked as potential allergens in routine clinical practice. The aim of the study was to assimilate published evidence on excipient-induced allergies associated with the use of oral medications and to underline their potential as potent allergens.

Its surgical management ranges from enterolithotomy, cholecystectomy, and fistula closure performed together (one-stage) or performed separately (two-stage), while some patients undergo simple enterolithotomy.

In recent years, evidence has continued to mount showing a strong relationship between diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease. This, in turn, has driven a shift to a more integrated and holistic approach in the treatment of patients with cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) disease. The 2022 Diabetes, Cardiorenal, and Metabolic (DCRM) multispecialty practice recommendations were the first multispecialty consensus on the comprehensive management of patients with diabetes, cardiorenal, and/or metabolic diseases, providing evidence-based recommendations that are simple to implement.
