Introduction: This Rapid Review (RR) aimed to assess the current literature over the past decade to determine the prevailing evidence regarding compulsory treatment* in eating disorders (ED). It is hoped that the review will help inform a consensus opinion as to whether this course of action confers significant clinical benefit, and importantly, to whom it should apply. The review also explores alternative options to involuntary care.

Donation after circulatory death (DCD) is becoming increasingly utilized in heart transplantation and has the potential to further expand the donor pool. As transplant cardiologists gain more familiarity with DCD donor selection, there are many issues that lack consensus including how we incorporate the neurologic examination, how we measure functional warm ischemic time (fWIT), and what fWIT thresholds are acceptable. DCD donor selection calls for prognostication tools to help determine how quickly a donor may expire, and in current practice there is no standardization in how we make these predictions.

Despite the increasing plastic discharge into the environment, few articles have dealt with the macroecological implications of microplastics (MPs) bioaccumulation on organisms. We performed a meta-analysis of MPs accumulation in true crabs and pseudocrabs worldwide and made use of macroecotoxicological approaches to know if: I) functional traits influence the bioaccumulation of MPs in the tissues of crabs; II) there is a latitudinal pattern of MPs bioaccumulation; III) there are tissues that can accumulate more MPs; IV) crabs can sort particles according to size, color, shape and type. Our results showed that functional traits influence the accumulation of MPs.
