Published: October 2009

Background And Objective: To quantify the relationship between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Type A Behaviour Pattern (TABP) PATIENTS AND METHOD: The Jenkins Activity Survey (JAS) was administered to 82 patients diagnosed with CFS to determine the prevalence of TABP. Subjects' mean z scores on the JAS were compared with those from the general population (healthy controls) and from patients with ischemic cardiopathy (pathologic controls).

Results: CFS patients' mean score on the JAS was 5 points higher than that of the general population (healthy controls) and 2 points higher than that of patients with ischemic cardiopathy.

Conclusions: TABP appears to be related with CFS and should be taken into account in the treatment of these patients.

Immunocompromised individuals were considered high-risk for severe disease due to SARS COV-2 infection. This study aimed to describe the safety of two doses of COVID-19 adsorbed inactivated vaccine (CoronaVac; Sinovac/Butantan), followed by additional doses of mRNA BNT162b2 (Pfizer/BioNTech) in immunocompromised (IC) adults, compared to immunocompetent/healthy (H) individuals. This phase 4, multicenter, open label study included solid organ transplant and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, cancer patients and people with inborn errors of immunity with defects in antibody production, rheumatic, end-stage chronic kidney or liver disease, who were enrolled in the IC group.

Background/aims: Fatigue is a common symptom in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F) scale has demonstrated reliability and validity in assessing fatigue in patients with IBD and is used worldwide. This study aimed to examine the current state of fatigue among Japanese patients with IBD using the FACIT-F scale and to compare these findings with data from global studies through a systematic review.

Background: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a disease characterized by chronic widespread pain concomitant with various symptoms such as fatigue and anxiety. Although chronic inflammation has been implicated in the immunological abnormalities of FM, there are few human studies on complement and immunoglobulins. In this study, we investigated the immunological characteristics of FM patients and the association between their clinical symptoms and immunological indices, including complement and immunoglobulins.
